What is the L.S. Skaggs Student Wellness Board

The L.S. Skaggs Student Wellness board is a student-run, non-profit board whose purpose is to help promote lifelong health and wellness to members across our community while raising funds to directly support the participants of the L.S. Skaggs Patient Wellness Center. This center aids and encourages movement and exercise for a wide variety of individuals with various neurologic conditions ranging from Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Spinal cord injury, and more.

Our Mission

The Mission of the L.S. Skaggs Student Wellness Board is to enhance the quality of life of, advocate for, and empower the L.S. Skaggs Patient Wellness Center members and community through student-led service-learning and interprofessional collaboration to facilitate lifelong wellness.

Membership is open to any currently enrolled graduate student of the University of Utah pursuing a terminal professional degree in the health sciences through the College of Health, School of Nursing, School of Dentistry, or School of Medicine. This includes but is not limited to occupational therapy, physical therapy, recreational therapy, nursing, speech-language pathology, etc. Undergraduate students interested in this board may hold a volunteer position for the wellness classes.
