When Ruth Watkins became President of the University, she said her dream was to have "One U".
“When I think about ‘One University,’ I think about the fact that we have such a powerful opportunity to be more than our individual parts—to think and act as ‘One University.’”
—President Ruth Watkins
The College of Health, under the direction of Dean David Perrin, is answering that call. The college has assembled a team to help students expand their education across degrees, departments, and disciplines. The goal is to better prepare our graduates for an increasingly complex health landscape. We will offer academic experience for interested students that span multiple disciplines.
IPE, as it is known, will be embedded across 7 disciplines in the college:
- athletic training
- physical therapy
- occupational therapy
- recreational therapy
- audiology
- speech language pathology
- nutrition.
Student care providers participate in educational experiences and courses that require them to work as team members – collaborating, planning, coordinating, learning from one another to improve health outcomes. Students and faculty are encouraged to participate in this initiative.
