Kinesiology Program

Welcome to the Kinesiology (KINES) Program! As members of the American Kinesiology Association (AKA), we focus on physical activity from multiple perspectives. The AKA defines Kinesiology as, “...the academic discipline which involves the study of physical activity and its impact on health, society, and quality of life.”

The KINES faculty and staff are dedicated to our students success. Kinesiology students have multiple opportunities to engage in community, educational, and research initiatives. The programs we offer allow students to customize their experience in a manner that best suits their professional goals.

The undergraduate program is ideal for those seeking professional careers in health care (medicine, dentistry, and physical therapy professions), fitness, or teaching. The graduate Coaching Wellness Program prepares students to work alongside health care professionals to facilitate behavior change in various populations, and the research-oriented MS and PhD programs are suited to those wishing to engage in the scholarship of human movement.

Connect with one of our amazing undergraduate advisors to discuss whether Kinesiology is perfect for you!

We enhance health, quality of life, and human performance through discovery, dissemination, and application of the scientific foundations of physical activity.

Working together, we aspire to be globally recognized for excellence in advancing the knowledge and practice of physical activity and mentoring future leaders in our discipline.
