Current Off-Campus Courses
Increased physical activity has been proven to have significant impact on your overall health, well-being, intellect, and quality of life. It's time to take action towards leading a healthy lifestyle and participate in an Exercise and Sport Science Fitness (ESSF) course today.
Students or non-students can take these classes for credit or non-credit. Non-credit students do not have to be registered students at the University of Utah. Non-credit courses are more cost effective than taking courses for credit. Credit courses can be repeated for credit as many times as a student prefers.

Take your underwater experiences to new depths! ESSF offers Scuba classes for those wishing to obtain their initial open water certification or those who wish to become experienced Divemasters of the future. There are two scuba locations students can enroll for; please locate the correct section when choosing your location!
- The Dive Shop in Bountiful, UT
- Neptune Divers in Sugarhouse-SLC, UT
All scuba gear has been sanitized with hospital grade germicide prior to using it and will be sanitized by the student after it is used in class. The buddy system for diving will be enforced and may place the student with someone they may not know. It will be discussed with the student prior and they will have options around what training(s) will be completed with a buddy. If there are any questions, The Dive Shop can be contacted directly at 801-295-5445.
Please be prepared to take a swim test before beginning your training!
This is REQUIRED and done at each location!
