Supervised Practice

The supervised practice experience is part of an ACEND* accredited program that provides dietetic students the opportunity to apply skills in clinical practice, food service management, and community settings under the supervision of qualified preceptors.  Students in the Coordinated Masters Program in Dietetics must complete 1000 hours of supervised practice to be eligible for the National Registration Exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

A wide variety of settings are available to students for their rotations and research including:

  • Clinical: inpatient and outpatient clinics + acute care facilities
  • Food Management: food service operations
  • Community: community nutrition + public health
