Community Outreach

Community outreach within the Parks, Recreation & Tourism department aims to foster positive connections between the University of Utah and the greater Salt Lake area. University of Utah students and faculty engage in meaningful community outreach opportunities, with hopes to give back to the community.

Nature and Human Health Utah

Nature and Human Health Utah (NHH-UT) works to strengthen the connection between between nature, health, and community. The NHH-UT group support research, programs, and partnerships that advance the role of nature in public health across Utah.

Camping in Color

Camping in Color provides outdoor experiences for Black youth and families to connect with nature in a supportive, culturally affirming environment. Founded by University of Utah graduates Sydney Murray and Hilary Lambert, the program aims to increase representation and engagement in the historically white-dominated outdoor recreation space.
