Emergency Medical Services and Wilderness Rescue Training

The Center for Emergency Programs trains over 1200 people per year. We offer a variety of training courses in emergency medical services (EMS), wilderness rescue and pre-hospital training including First aid, CPR, EMT, AEMT, swift water rescue, avalanche rescue, high angle technician, and other topics. Courses are offered every semester following the academic calendar as well as in short formats for community groups and business.

Group Training

As a group or business/agency, All courses can be offered by contract at your facility and according to your schedule. Our courses take the same knowledge and skills you find in other trainings and adapt them for your group based on your wants, needs, and skill level. Training courses may include options for certification, re-certification, or continuing education credit.

EMS Emphasis

Interested in a degree in Emergency Medical Services? 

We offer an EMS emphasis degree with several interest track areas including EMS management, community response (paramedic), and wilderness rescue. This degree is a great fit for those looking to work as an EMS professional in urban and wilderness settings or those working on a preprofessional degree (premed).

CPR and First Aid

Whether you are looking for CPR training or CPR and First Aid training, we can help. We offer a varity of course options to individuals and groups. 

EMT and AEMT Training

Following the University of Utah semester schedule, we offer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) training through out the year. With start dates in January, May, and August. 

 

Remote Rescue Training

Through our remote rescue division, we offer a variety of wilderness based rescue courses. These include swift water rescue, avalanche rescue, high angle rescue, and a variety of wilderness medicine courses. 

 

Continuing Education

Looking for Emergency Medical Servcies Continuing Education hours? With options set up for individuals and agencies,  We can help you get the hours you need.
