Julie is originally from Indiana. She received her Physical Therapy degree from the University of Indianapolis, then went on to get a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh. She has devoted most of her career to teaching and doing research on treatments to help people with back pain. She is particularly interested in helping people learn strategies to manage their pain without needing pain medication. This interest was the motivation for developing the BeatPain project. When she is away from work Julie enjoys hiking and backpacking, and tries her best to follow the Chicago Cubs during baseball season.

Adrianna Romero

Adrianna is from Nevada and moved to Utah to go to school. She is a first-generation Latina who completed her education at the University of Utah. Adrianna found the greatest satisfaction working in healthcare helping people. Adrianna's prior professional experience in clinical research has aimed at bridging the gap between healthcare and communities that have faced the greatest healthcare disparities. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dogs.

Dania is a first-generation Latina who grew up in Utah. She is currently a student at the University of Utah completing her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. She was drawn to the BeatPain project because of the way physical therapy is used as a treatment method and the ability to be part of a research team. When she is not in school or with BeatPain, she enjoys spending time with her family and learning new recipes.

Isaac Ford

Isaac is a New England native who earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Ithaca College in New York. Throughout his career, he has worked with a wide range of individuals treating everyone from Broadway performers to individuals with complex spine conditions. The things that Isaac enjoys most about his work are the collaborations and connections that are built when helping people achieve their functional potential. It is these shared values that led Isaac to the University of Utah and BeatPain. On weekends you can find him outdoors camping, skiing, running, biking and exploring all of Utah’s beauty.
Isaac es nativo de Noreste que obtuvo su Doctorado en Fisioterapia de Ithaca College en Nueva York. Laura Vinci de Vanegas

Laura is a former professional dancer and Boston native who earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Massachusetts. Throughout her career, she has split her time working in an outpatient orthopedic practice and a neurologic day rehabilitation program in Chicago, IL. She has a keen interest in working with patients suffering from chronic pain and re-occurring injuries to improve function, mobility, and participation in life's daily activities. She views physical therapy as a collaborative experience between the patient and the provider and is excited to be a part of the BEATPAIN team. She moved to Utah in December with her family and when not working, you can find her dancing, cycling, or perusing the local plant nurseries.
Laura es una ex bailarina profesional y nativa de Boston que obtuvo su Doctorado en Fisioterapia del Instituto MGH de Profesiones de la Salud en Massachusetts. A lo largo de su carrera, ha dividido su tiempo trabajando en una práctica ortopédica ambulatoria y un programa de rehabilitación neurológica diurna en Chicago, IL. Juan Paz Delgado

Juan is originally from Colombia, South America, and migrated to the United States on a scholarship to obtain his education while playing soccer. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Southwest Baptist University in Missouri and continued to pursue a specialty in Orthopedics through the SLU/SSM Health residency program. Throughout his career, he has worked with a wide variety of individuals from professional athletes to complex chronic conditions. As an international student, he understands how language can be a barrier affecting healthcare and cherishes Spanish-speaking individuals and their access to care. Outside of the clinic, Juan enjoys playing soccer, traveling, spending time with his family, tasting new dishes, and learning about the culture of the food.
Juan es nativo de Colombia en Sur América y se mudo a Estados Unidos con una beca deportiva para obtener su educación mientras jugaba futbol a nivel universitario. Obtuvo su doctorado en Fisioterapia en la universidad de South West Baptist en Missouri y posteriormente continuo su educación logrando una especialización en ortopedia por medio de la residencia de SLU/SSM Health. A lo largo de su carrera ha trabajado con una extensa variedad de pacientes desde atletas profesionales hasta individuos con dolores crónicos y complejos. Al ser un estudiante internacional, conoce como el idioma es una barrera que afecta el acceso al sistema de la salud y valora ayudar a los pacientes que hablan español a acceder a su cuidado. Por fuera de la clínica, Juan disfruta de jugar al futbol, viajar, compartir tiempo con la familia, probar comida nueva y aprender de las diferentes culturas gastronómicas.
Whitney Rokui

Whitney is a former Peace Corps Volunteer and has lived in numerous places, including Hawaii, Spain, and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, West Africa. She now considers Boston home and graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the MGH Institute of Health Professions. Whitney has worked in outpatient and home care settings, treating a variety of diagnoses from chronic low back pain to vestibular and neurological disorders. She enjoys partnering with her patients to help them achieve their full rehab potential and return to a fulfilling lifestyle. In her free time, Whitney relishes traveling the road less traveled, learning about other cultures, running, hiking, horseback riding, and all water sports including racing with a Dragon Boat team.

Kate Addis

Kate is originally from Oregon, though has lived and practiced Physical Therapy in several different states. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas and has been proud to call Utah her home for the past several years. Kate has worked in a variety of different settings with a diverse range of patients, with a passion for helping those with orthopedic and/or neurologic injuries. She values being able to make a positive impact on the lives of others and her community. Kate loves adventuring in the mountains through skiing, hiking and mountain biking.
Originalmente de Oregon, Kate ha vivido y practicado fisioterapia en varios estados diferentes. Obtuvo su Doctorado en Fisioterapia de la Universidad de Nevada en Las Vegas y ha estado orgullosa de llamar a Utah su hogar durante los últimos años. Cynthia DiFrancesco

Cynthia was drawn to a career in healthcare after teaching in the USA and Mexico. She received her Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana, and subsequently graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The NeuroRecovery Training Institute in Louisville, KY. She is a neurologic clinical specialist and has worked for many years in outpatient and inpatient clinic settings treating people who have neurological and orthopedic conditions, including chronic back pain. She enjoys working alongside her patients to help them learn about their abilities, recover their resilience, and return to what they love doing. Cynthia is a volunteer PT in adaptive sports and has been a volunteer PT in in Haiti, Mexico, Thailand, and Vietnam. Montana is her home, and she loves reading, puzzles, yoga, and being outside whether it’s biking, hiking, skiing or paddling.

Victor Solis

Victor is a Connecticut native who earned his BS in Psychology with an emphasis in Neuroscience from BYU in Utah. Throughout his career, he has worked on multiple research studies ranging from the health effects from city renovations to cutting edge new cancer treatments at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. The things that Victor enjoys most about his work are connecting with patients/participant and more broadly assisting to expand the general scientific knowledge to benefit society at large. On weekends you can find him playing soccer, basketball, biking or just enjoying the beauty of Utah.
Victor es un nativo de Connecticut que obtuvo su licenciatura en psicología con énfasis en neurociencia de BYU en Utah. A lo largo de su carrera, ha trabajado varios estudios de investigación que van desde los efectos en la salud de las renovaciones de la ciudad hasta nuevos tratamientos contra el cáncer de vanguardia en el Instituto del Cáncer Huntsman.
