Participate in Research

The Neuromechanics and Applied Locomotion Lab is seeking volunteers for our ongoing studies on human movement and locomotion.

If you're interested in contributing to our research, please fill out our online participant questionnaire.

Participant Questionnaire

DHI

This study is investigating the potential relationship between brain injuries and the body's ability to regulate heart rate and balance during mobility tasks during a 2 hour in-person session and a 7-day continuous monitoring period while wearing sensors. There is compensation for participating in this study, $50 for the initial visit and $10/day for each continuous monitoring day + $30 for completing all 7 days totaling $150 for participating in all parts of the study.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the participant questionnaire.

R21

This study is investigating the potential relationship between concussion and how it affects the ability to balance and navigate during a single 2-3 hours in-person session. The tasks in this study mostly involve moving around in a virtual environment while wearing a virtual reality headset. The compensation for this study is $20/hr.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the participant questionnaire.

DoD5

This study is investigating the use of wearable sensors to assess the responsiveness of concussion during rehabilitation to improve treatment outcomes. There is a pre-rehab testing session followed by a 1-week continuous monitoring period using instrumented socks. Following that is 6 weeks of free rehab (two 60min sessions/week, 12 total sessions run by a licensed physical therapist), and a post-rehab testing session. All sessions take place in-person and the compensation for this study is $75 for the pre-rehab session, $100 for the continuous monitoring, and $100 for the post-rehab session, totaling $275.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the participant questionnaire.
