College of Health

Scholarships Available to Full Time Majors

Scholarships are part of your total financial aid package; unlike a loan, scholarships don't need to be paid back. Scholarship donors direct how the money is to be used. Application requirements and deadlines differ based on the individual scholarships.

Application and Award

Scholarships are awarded in the Spring for the following academic year.

  • To be considered, students are required to meet all criteria for scholarship opportunities available within the College of Health.  Some scholarships require additional criteria.  Awards are disbursed the following academic year, and scholarship awards over $1,000.00 are disbursed over two semesters.

To be eligible to apply for and receive scholarships, students must be registered full-time (12 credit hours for undergraduate students, 9 credit hours for graduate students) in the semester the scholarship is awarded AND the semester(s) that the scholarship is disbursed. Doctoral and Master Thesis/Project students who have completed all coursework must be enrolled in an  3-credit thesis/dissertation course to be considered full-time. The course must be either In-Person or Hybrid to meet in-person credit requirements. The following course numbers are considered thesis courses: 6970-6989 or 7970-7989.

Applicants must be enrolled in a major within the College of Health. Pre-majors will not be accepted. If the scholarship recipient changes majors within the College of Health, the scholarship will not be affected. If the scholarship recipient changes majors to a discipline outside the College of Health, he or she forfeits the remainder of the scholarship.

In order to be considered for College of Health scholarships, applicants must complete a FAFSA application, as financial need is determined by the University Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (UOSFA). The FAFSA application is free of charge. Please follow up with the UOSFA office if you have any questions about your federal aid award (801-581-6211).

If you are not eligible to submit a FAFSA online, then please use the following steps to complete the Federal Student Aid Estimator (FSAE)

    • Go to the website https://studentaid.gov/aid-estimator/
    • Click "Start."
    • Enter all applicable personal information for the academic year.
    • Fill out the Federal Student Aid Estimator information based on your and/or your parent's tax information.
    • Download a PDF of "Your Estimated Results."
    • Email Ashley Stevenson this PDF, along with the name of the scholarship(s) you applied for, and reference the information.

Eligible students will be matched to graduate or undergraduate degree-level scholarships when the scholarship chair and the scholarship committee review the applications.  Incomplete scholarship applications will not be considered, you must complete all sections. Visit the general application for all College of Health scholarships and deadlines.

    1. Make sure you meet minimum eligibility (See above).
