Paula Kramer is a Ph.D. student in the Cognitive and Motor Neuroscience research theme within the Department of Health & Kinesiology at the University of Utah. Paula earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from Temple University and later completed her Master’s in Cognitive and Motor Neuroscience at the University of Utah. Her master’s research focused on the mechanical energetics of proactive, reactive, and recovery mechanisms to control balance during underfoot perturbations.
Currently, Paula's research explores how insoles that enhance foot mechanical power affect gait stability in older adults across a variety of locomotor activities. Driven by a passion for helping individuals move without limits and reducing fall risks, Paula’s work bridges biomechanics, motor control, and aging research.
Outside the lab, Paula enjoys climbing, running, skiing, yoga, and thinking about biomechanics and motor control related problems.
