Yufan He is a Ph.D. student in the Cognitive and Motor Neuroscience research theme in the Department of Health & Kinesiology. Yufan earned his BS in Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering from Capital Medical University (Beijing) in 2022 and his MS in Biomedical Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2024. His master’s dissertation research focused on gait kinematics and kinetics in individuals with lower-limb amputations—primarily the transfer of the foot’s center of pressure during gait, and rehabilitation strategies, as well as on using machine learning classification methods to study their gait. Yufan is currently involved in a project investigating how shear stress during physical activity influences skin temperature changes in individuals with lower-limb amputations. In his free time, Yufan enjoys quiet moments of reflection, contemplating the game of Go, playing the ukulele, and going out for photography.
