Yufan He is a Ph.D. student in the Biomechanics of Human Movement track in Mechanical Engineering. He earned his BS in Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering from Capital Medical University (Beijing) in 2022 and his MS in Biomedical Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2024. His master’s research focused on gait kinematics and kinetics in individuals with lower-limb amputations, with particular interest in center of pressure progression, rehabilitation strategies, and machine-learning-based gait classification. Yufan is currently involved in projects examining the biomechanics of turning gait and shear-related skin responses in individuals with lower-limb amputations. He is also developing musculoskeletal and predictive simulation models as part of his growing interest in computational biomechanics and prosthetic design. In his free time, Yufan enjoys quiet moments of reflection, contemplating the game of Go, playing the ukulele, and exploring photography.
