I graduated from Texas State University with my DPT in 2013. I’m currently a Rehabilitation Science PhD candidate at the University of Utah with a focus on DPT education. I completed my Orthopedic Fellowship training with Bellin College (formerly Evidence in Motion). I have worked in multiple orthopedic and pain management settings from private practice to larger healthcare systems and have taught in hybrid DPT formats in many roles since 2017.
I am currently an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. My primary role is Hybrid-Lead for Tests and Measures, and Musculoskeletal Management. My research interests include the impact of curriculum on changes in DPT students’ low back pain beliefs, and differences in educational experience and outcomes between different modes of curricular delivery. Essentially, I like to study how we teach student and how students learn physical therapy and health sciences.
Something interesting about me is that I’m a country-girl from Texas and grew up raising horses, so it’s not unusual to see me in my cowboy boots (no hat or belt buckle… I’ve evolved). Now I spend most of my time with my husband and dogs in a Jeep on a trail or finding some rocks to crawl.
