About Me

Maddie is a Senior Academic Advisor in the Health and Kinesiology department who works specifically with Kinesiology and Health & Physical Education Teaching undergraduate students.  She graduated from the University of Utah in 2017 with a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and minors in Diversity, Criminology, and Sociology. Post graduation, Maddie worked in the Financial Aid Office before transitioning into her current role with the College of Health and completed additional certifications in Coaching and Project Management. With nearly 13 years of higher education experience from being both a student and a staff member, Maddie has become a seasoned expert on how to navigate an undergraduate degree, especially in Health Sciences. Maddie’s style of academic advising can be described as fostering a judgement-free partnership with students and creating a “home base” for them to land at when needed. She actively supports students by providing the information, guidance, and resources they need to make their own informed decisions and be successful on their academic path. Outside of work, you can find this SLC native reading, watching movies, enjoying nature, or hanging out with her family.
