Emma Bowden is a PhD student in the bioInnovate track in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Emma earned her BS in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University, where she worked on research projects involving robotic prosthetics, spine biomechanics, and wearable sensors. Emma is passionate about developing solutions that help individuals with movement disabilities gain greater mobility and independence so they can pursue the activities and aspirations that matter most to them. Her work in the lab reflects this passion and her interest in better understanding human movement. Outside of the lab, Emma enjoys hiking, reading, playing the piano and guitar, and spending time with family.
