About Me

Debra Day Hogan, MA, CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor (Clinical) in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has been engaged in many years of clinical practice treating pediatric and adult clients, patients, and students of all ages with various communication/swallowing disorders in many settings. Most recently, she has worked in clinical education with SLP graduate students. She has a passion for learning and for her profession, making this an ideal role. She has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Brigham Young University and the University of Utah including foundational speech and hearing sciences, clinical methods, and topics in clinical practicum. Her interest in learning research and cognitive neuroscience makes course design a delightful endeavor. Lived experience with loved ones with acquired neurogenic communication disorders has made her specifically skilled in understanding and treating executive function disorders to support her clients' personal, academic, and career goals. Her cognitive intervention approaches and methods enable clients with diverse disabilities and diseases to understand energy and manage fatigue for improved communication, life participation, and overall well-being.
