Community Engaged Health Promotion
through Dissemination & Implementation Science
Despite over 30 years of research demonstrating the effectiveness of health promotion interventions, the task of translating these evidence-based approaches into sustained community practice remains challenging. To address this, our Community-Engaged Dissemination & Implementation (CEDI) team focuses on a range of studies that test strategies for accelerating the integration of effective interventions into community and clinical settings.
Our work is deeply embedded within community contexts and encompasses various projects. These include efforts to treat childhood obesity in rural areas, prevent diabetes among underserved and underrepresented populations, prevent obesity in indigenous communities, and reduce sedentary behaviors in workplaces.
Translating evidence-based interventions into clinical and community practice
Our goal is to design and disseminate health promotion interventions with broad reach, particularly with groups experiencing health inequities, and effectively improve and maintain improvements in health that can be adopted, implemented, and sustained in communities that experience health disparities.
Community Collaboration
By closely collaborating with communities and testing innovative approaches to translation and implementation, we strive to bridge the gap between research findings and their real-world application, ultimately contributing to more equitable and lasting improvements in community health.
