Dr. Taylor Carter earned her doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga in 2009. She also holds a BS in exercise science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. During her studies she developed a strong interest in patients with brain and spinal cord injuries. She began her career at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA where her practice was focused on in-patient rehab, working with patients with dual diagnosis-spinal cord injury and acquired brain injury. After moving to Salt City in 2011, Dr. Carter began working in skilled nursing treating patients with spinal cord injury. In 2012 she accepted the position she currently holds with the University of Utah hospital medical team working in acute care.

Dr. Carter became a board-certified clinical specialist in neurologic PT in 2014 and joined the University of Utah Neurologic residency program as co-director and educator for the mentors. She currently serves as assistant program coordinator.

Dr. Carter and her husband have one son. When not at work, you can find her running, biking, skiing, snowboarding, hiking and enjoying being mom to their preschooler.
