    PEAK University of Utah Employee Fitness Class Descriptions

    PEAK classes are offered to University of Utah employees and their family members. All PEAK fitness classes are suitable for people of all fitness levels. Our experienced instructors will offer modifications and variations to each workout, enabling you to adjust the intensity according to your individual requirements.

    Bootcamp

    A high-energy 50-minute class combining challenging strength circuits, and functional movements. Designed to build endurance, power, and confidence.

    Circuit Training

    A customizable, whole-body workout using a variety of stations. Participants rotate through strength, cardio, and mobility exercises at their own intensity, making it ideal for beginners and seasoned athletes alike.

    Dumbbell Strength Training (VIRTUAL)

    An at-home training session focused on strengthening all major muscle groups using dumbbells. This dynamic class blends controlled lifts, compound movements, and functional strength exercises to help you build strength safely and effectively.

    Indoor Cycling

    A music-driven cycling class designed to boost lower-body strength, cardiovascular endurance, and overall stamina. Riders control their own resistance, making it a welcoming and effective workout for all fitness levels.

    Mobility, Stability and Balance

    Focused class designed to improve how you move and feel. You’ll increase joint mobility, build core and postural stability, and strengthen balance through guided exercises.

    Stretch and Strengthen

    A balanced class that blends gentle stretching with targeted strengthening exercises to improve flexibility, muscle tone, and overall well-being. Ideal for reducing tension, supporting healthy posture, and enhancing functional movement.

    Weight Training

    An empowering strength-focused class centered on proper lifting techniques and progressive resistance exercises. Participants learn how to use free weights and machines safely while working toward individualized fitness and strength goals.

    Yoga

    A welcoming class that blends mindful movement, breathwork, and strengthening postures to enhance flexibility, balance, and overall well-being. This class supports both physical and mental wellness in a calm, supportive environment.

    Yoga Hatha for Strength (VIRTUAL)

    A virtual Hatha yoga practice emphasizing physical strength through deliberate postures, controlled breathing, and mindful movement. Designed to increase stability, muscular endurance, and body awareness.

    Yoga Hatha for Stress Relief (VIRTUAL)

    A calming virtual class featuring slow, breath-focused movements and gentle postures aimed at reducing tension and promoting relaxation. Participants gain mental clarity, self-awareness, and a renewed sense of ease.

    Zumba

    A fun, upbeat workout combining easy-to-follow dance moves with energetic music. Zumba boosts cardiovascular health, coordination, and calorie burn in a lively, welcoming environment.
