TUITION

Tuition is set by the University of Utah and fees are an estimation on average of what graduate students report. Some students seek financial assistance through scholarships and financial aid, which are not part of the fee and tuition estimates on this page.

CMP students are required to register for approximately 36 credit hours the first year and 28 credit hours the second year, depending on the chosen course of study. Tuition rates for nutrition graduate students are available through U of U Financial Services. Be sure to look under Health Sciences Nutrition as rates are different for each graduate program. You may also use the Financial & Business Services Tuition Estimator and the CMP Curriculum to estimate tuition and fees per semester.

DIFFERENTIAL TUITION

Differential tuition, also known as Program Fees, is a charge that Universities add to the base tuition to help cover the costs of programs that are expensive to administer. Universities will often add differential tuition to the price of professional programs. All of the professional programs in the University of Utah’s College of Health have differential tuition. These fees are earmarked specifically for the program to help support our curriculum and accreditation requirements.

Differential tuition for the CMP program is approximately $4,530 per semester = totaling $18,120 for 4 semesters (no differential tuition will be charge in the Summer semester)

The CMP uses differential tuition funds to help cover the costs of being an ACEND accredited program. For example, the supervised practice requirement requires additional faculty and staff to help coordinate supervised practice placements, track student outcomes, and coordinate ACEND required competencies. We also use differential tuition to pay for the accreditation and directory listings, student background checks, and drug screening fees.

For more information about our differential tuition, you can consult the CMP handbook.
