Alumni Q&A
Q: Why did you choose athletic training as a profession?
A: “I love athletics and I love healthcare. Athletic Training is the perfect combination of the two. I get to work with some amazing athletes every day. Plus, I didn’t love the idea of being in an office all day.”
Q: What made you choose the University of Utah?
A: “I was born and raised in Salt Lake as a die-hard Utah fan. I applied to a number of universities with athletic training programs, but ultimately, the opportunities and clinical experiences at the U fit my needs the best!”
Q: One piece of advice for aspiring athletic trainers?
A: “Dive in and get your hands dirty. Be curious and inquisitive. Ask questions. All your preceptors have been in your shoes and have years of experience, try to build off of their experience.”
Q: What keeps you passionate about athletic training
A: “Ultimately, my athletes. I want to see them succeed. But I want to see athletic trainers succeed too. We are our own best advocates. If we are not having fun and being supported in our job and career, we can’t provide the best healthcare for our athletes and patients.”
