Liping Wang, lab manager in the Department of Nutrition and Integrative Physiology at the College of Health, received the Excellence in Safety Award during STEM Safety Day 2025.
In the lab, Wang studies lipid metabolism, focusing on sphingolipid ceramides and their harmful effects on metabolic health. His work aims to train students and develop novel inhibitors to reduce ceramides and treat metabolic diseases.
Wang’s commitment to campus safety has been exemplary. He plays an active role on the College of Health Safety Committee, where his leadership and dedication have made a lasting, positive impact on the organization’s safety practices.
