Dr. Daniel Davis, a postdoctoral research fellow in the Sayu Lab for Biomechanics & Locomotion, has been awarded an F32 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from the National Institute on Aging.
The fellowship will support Davis’s research on mobility deficits in older adults, using advanced biomedical imaging and computational tools to better understand the factors that contribute to declines in movement and physical function.
Davis is currently exploring how age-related foot muscle weakness contributes to mobility impairment. He hopes this research will provide insights into new interventions, tools, and rehabilitation strategies for older adults. Specifically, Davis plans to implement simple footwear interventions to help address diminished walking function in older adults. These efforts aim to translate his findings into practical strategies that can help older adults maintain mobility and quality of life.
