Welcome to the Special/Adapted Physical Education focus area within the Kinesiology Program, Department of Health, Kinesiology and Recreation. The graduate program in special/adapted physical education trains personnel to provide quality physical education experiences for individuals with disabilities. It is designed to broaden knowledge and skills in the area of special/adapted physical education; provide many and varied opportunities for supervised practical teaching experiences; and provide the tools necessary to conduct research, resolve future problems, and keep abreast of future developments in the field. We have a strong link to programs in the community and provide service learning opportunities to students across campus through our U-FIT Program.
