First aid training courses / classes that cover assessment and treatment of life-threatening bleeding, CPR, AED, trauma and medical emergencies.
Basic First Aid
This course covers airway management, rescue breathing, and one-rescuer CPR for adult, child and infant victims. It includes first aid for common injuries and illnesses as well as patient assessment.
This is an excellent class for those wanting to know how to treat victims for a few minutes until an ambulance arrives. This is a noncredit class.
Advanced First Aid and Emergency Care (H EDU 1950)
This course teaches advanced first aid skills that are applicable to accidents, injuries and illnesses seen commonly at home, work, recreation, or while traveling. CPR is included. Certificates in advanced level first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR are awarded upon successful completion of this course. Basic first aid is not required to enroll in this class.
This class is excellent for people who work or spend time in rural or remote areas or in higher risk activities, or are responsible for the health and safety of groups.
This class is similar to First Responder without the emphasis on equipment.
Because of the three year certification period with our first aid classes, we do not offer challenge courses. For the Advanced First Aid/First Responder level course (HEDU 1950) we offer a recertification class where you retake the class under another name (HEDU-3750, First Aid Refresher) and can receive credit for that class also.
