Students transferring to the University of Utah are required to meet with an advisor prior to registering for classes. If you are interested in the Kinesiology major, you can meet with one of the KINES advisors. Specific instructions are listed below depending on which KINES major you are interested in. You can also meet with a Center for Student Success Advisor to discuss general education requirements and major exploration.
KINES (Exercise Science or Fitness and Wellness Specialist options) or KINES Teaching
If you are planning to declare the KINES major or apply to the KINES Teaching program, please schedule an appointment and bring a transcript (official or unofficial) and University of Utah ID number to your advising appointment.
Transferring from Another Institution in Utah
Please check the Getting Ready Guides to see which courses transfer to the KINES major at the University of Utah. The Getting Ready guides are specific to the transferring college of University for the KINES Program. If a course is not listed on these guides, you will need to complete the Transfer Credit Review Form and submit the form with a copy of the transfer course syllabus.
Transferring from Another State
The Admissions Office will review your transcripts to see if any courses fulfill General Education or Bachelor Degree Requirements. If you took any course(s) at your previous institution that you think may fulfill a requirement for your major, you will need to complete the Transfer Credit Review Form and submit the form with a copy of the transfer course syllabus.
