CPR Classes & Schedule

Overview

Center for Emergency Programs offers two CPR options to fit your needs. For more information and questions about registration, please call 801-581-4512.

Health Care Provider/ Professional Rescuer CPR*

Professional Rescuer CPR is designed for students who will be working in a health care setting or a rescue setting such as first responder or lifeguard. It is the prerequisite to EMT courses. It includes one and two-rescuer CPR, Automated External Defibrillation (AED) and use of adjunct respiratory equipment. This class is taught by request for businesses and community groups.

Heartcode Health Care Provider/ Professional Rescuer CPR*

The Heartcode course is taught both online through the American Heart Association and with a skills session taught through the Center for Emergency Programs. You must register for and complete both sections to receive a certification card. Professional Rescuer CPR is designed for students who will be working in a health care setting or a rescue setting such as first responder or lifeguard. It is the prerequisite to EMT courses. It includes one and two-rescuer CPR, Automated External Defibrillation (AED) and use of adjunct respiratory equipment. The skills session for this course is offered once a month on a Saturday, with class beginning at 9am and going until all material is covered (typically 1.5 hours).

Schedule

The currently scheduled classes for CPR are listed below. CPR classes must have a minimum enrollment of 3 students in order to be held. Each class can hold a maximum of ten students. To register. visit the Umarket HERE and select CPR courses from the left hand menu. You may then pick the day you wish to attend. All Saturday CPR courses are taught using the Heartcode online course with the American Heart Association. You will need to complete the Heartcode course prior to attending the Skills session. Cancellation Policy

$10.00 administration fee will apply for any cancellations up to 24hours before the class. Less than 24 hour cancellation or 'no shows' will not receive reimbursement.

May 19: This course begins promptly at 10:00am. You must be currently enrolled in the Center for Emergency Programs EMT course. This course will meet in Annex 2090.

June 09: This course will meet in Annex 2107

July 14: This course will meet in Annex 2107

Live Health Care provider/professional rescuer CPR

*All University of Utah Center for Emergency Programs American Heart Association CPR certification cards are eCards. These eCards will be delivered electronically to the email address the student provides. That email will have instructions on how to access and claim your certification card.
